Newest Version of Complete Business and Clinical Workflow Solution Includes New Call Center Scheduler, Enhanced Print/Fax Capabilities, Mammography Updates and More
MILWAUKEE, Sept. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Merge eMed, a Merge
Healthcare company (Nasdaq: MRGE; TSX: MRG) and a leading medical imaging
software and services company, today announced the release of Fusion RIS
Version 3.1. This version improves upon the strong foundation of Fusion
RIS, now used as an integrated business and clinical workflow solution in
more than 150 hospital-based and freestanding radiology imaging facilities.
Fusion RIS is a comprehensive, easy-to-use HIPAA-supportive Radiology
Information System (RIS) designed with significant input from Merge eMed
clients to replicate radiology workflow best practices. Version 3.1 further
accelerates the solution's productivity capabilities, with a deepened
feature set that is closely aligned with real-world needs of today's
radiology practices. New in this version are:
-- A new Call Center Scheduler module, which features a high-performing, keyboard-driven scheduling process with flexible block scheduling capabilities. Schedulers can create and save more appointments in less time, and offer more appointment options when setting up exams, thus improving both patient and referring physician satisfaction. The Call Center Scheduler was designed closely with strategic customers to provide the means of scheduling a patient appointment in 90 seconds or less.
-- An updated Fusion Delivery Service, which speeds processing and improves consistency for printing and faxing of patient reports. This upgraded capability reduces the burden on administrative support staff members, including IT, and improves customer service for referring practices. The Fusion Delivery Service was designed to deliver more than 6,000 fax and/or print jobs per day. Coupled with the Fusion Referring Practice Portal, this feature allows referring physicians to access patient reports within minutes.
-- Mammography updates for compliance with the newest American College of Radiology CR BI-RADS standards, providing greater refinement of diagnosis and improved communications with patients and physicians.
-- New Powerful RIS/PACS Configuration for accommodating film in a PACS environment, and providing greater flexibility for the radiologists' reading process by offering both "preferred" local study reading with the available access to Image Channel(TM) streaming.
Ongoing customer feedback helped drive these enhancements and others,
including newly expanded pre-certification workflow functionality to ensure
consistent and accurate payments for performed procedures.
"The Fusion RIS solution has proven its effectiveness in helping
organizations achieve profitable business growth," says Robert J. White,
Merge eMed president. "We maintain our commitment to using tangible
feedback from customers, to ensure that our development efforts remain
focused on issues that are relevant to organizations both large and small.
As we bring together functionality that optimizes efficiency in business
and clinical workflow, we will continue leveraging new technologies, while
also embracing and driving industry standards."
Merge eMed will demonstrate its RIS, PACS and clinical applications at
the Radiological Society of North America in the Merge eMed booth, #4704 in
the South Building - Hall A.
