Fondling victim relieved to see Fenton chiropractor Robert Moore lose license, at least temporarily

By Bryn Mickle

FENTON, Michigan -- Kelly Wagner smiled Tuesday at the news that a jailed Fenton chiropractor she used to work for will lose his license to practice for six months and a day.

Wagner, 21, of Fenton said she still deals with the emotional aftermath of having her breasts touched by Fenton chiropractor Dr. Robert J. Moore during an examination at his clinic five years ago.

Although Wagner felt some relief in February when a judge sent Moore to jail for 200 days, she worried the state would let Moore off without sanction.

"It's a scar that never goes away," said Moore. "We took a huge step today."

The Michigan Board of Chiropractic's disciplinary subcommittee on Tuesday announced that Moore's license suspension will go into effect in two weeks after paperwork is filed.

Once the suspension ends, Moore will have to petition the state to get his license back.

For now, Moore is spending his nights at the Genesee County Jail where his sentence is set to finish July 26 for a no-contest plea to a charge of attempted fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Although Moore has since sold his TLC Chiropractic practice on N. Leroy Street in Fenton to a partner, he had been doing billing there as part of his jail work release, according to the Genesee County Sheriff's Department.

But a woman who answered the phone at the clinic Tuesday afternoon said Moore no longer works there and declined further comment.
